Crushed chillies or Chilli Flakes are made from crushed and flaked—sun-dried whole red chillies. In cooking, crushed chillies tend to replace dry whole chillies, as they tend to release their flavour more quickly. Crushed chillies are also widely used to sprinkle on the spicy topping, especially on pizzas and casseroles.
